Emerald Cut Diamond

The Emerald cut differs from other cut diamonds in that its pavilion (the bottom part of the diamond that starts from its widest point (girdle) and finishes at a point (culet), is cut with rectangular facets which create a unique shape that exhibits outstanding optical qualities that emphasize the clarity of the diamond. The Emerald cut is known for the brilliant flashes of light reflected from its facets.

Amongst diamond cutters, the Emerald cut¸ is used to create exceptionally large diamonds. As with sculptors many craftsmen say that the stone “tells” them that it needs top be cut in this special way, a sure indication that cutting a diamond is not only a craft but truly an art.   Emerald cut diamonds can be either square or rectangular in shape and if you are looking for a square outline you should consider the Asscher Cut. This design was developed in Holland by the Asscher Brothers (hence its name) in 1902. It is also known as the square emerald cut due to its similarity to the emerald cut.

The ration of length to width should, ideally, be between 1.00 and 1.05. At Ronit-Diamonds we can offer you a wide variety of Emerald Cut, GIA certified diamonds at affordable prices. Ronit Tamir, Ronit-Diamond’s founder has stated that her aim is to provide her clients with the best possible diamonds, top quality service and a shopping experience second to none, and all at the lowest possible price.
